Legacy! Who among you will pass My legacy on to their children? Which of you will see that the next generation receives the rich inheritance bestowed upon believers by their Heavenly Father, the One who is the true patriarch of mankind?
So let My own regard themselves as beneficiaries of My estate: an inheritance containing such worth that those in My family cannot value all that it is using man’s standards of wealth. For how can anyone put a price on the treasure they have found in My Son? Who can come up with an accurate accounting of what they have gained through His sacrifice? For so great is their reward that its benefits cannot be enumerated.
However, this treasure trove of blessings was not meant to be theirs alone, for My Son gave His life so that many more could be added to My lineage, carrying forward the bloodline of My race and creed who, at the moment of repentance, obtained the birthright of a true heir. Yet, most who are considered children of Heaven don’t see themselves as My true sons and daughters, and thereby walk through this life with an ‘orphaned spirit’, still bound to the thinking of their former selves which carried thoughts of abandonment and rejection. Because this error in judgment has been transferred over into the new life they have found in their Savior, these believers cannot fully comprehend that their identity has changed, and as such, should, by all measure, regard themselves as My “chosen”: those who were elected by adoption into My fold.
Then tell Me, what foundling would not rejoice at such good news, and withhold these happy tidings from their neighbors and friends?
And yet, quite a few from My brood still cannot see themselves as co-inheritors, rendering the blessings I wish to bestow upon and through them dormant, like a large pile of beautifully wrapped gifts just sitting, waiting to be opened. Since this understanding of adoption is not established in their hearts, it’s no wonder, then, that My children are not walking as those with noble authority. For if one really believed themselves to be a joint heir, all thoughts of abandonment and rejection would be dispelled because those who recognize how much they are loved by Me hold a different opinion of themselves, one that expresses a more positive mental picture of who they are in Christ. This means the outlook they carry should never be negative, especially considering that their Father, the One who hung every shining star in the heavens, has gathered them into His bosom, where He longs to lavish His abundance upon their heads.
So then, let the one who has yet to receive and embrace this revelation be found walking circumspectly, so that he or she may discover where their thinking is still in error.
How it pains Me that some among My children still assume the identity of an orphan, believing they must rely on themselves to survive by wondering who else will look after their needs and make sure they are safe from harm. This kind of thinking is precisely that which still plagues the thoughts of many believers who were meant to walk in total freedom. However, because these have yet to dispel this evil spirit, his voice is still prevalent in their ear. Although his words are easy to distinguish because of his negative tone, most who have partnered with his voice are accustomed to his presence, making it hard for them to differentiate between his message and My voice of Truth.
Doesn’t it stand to reason, then, that the legacy I have left for mankind is not being spread, for how can someone see themselves as anything but a pauper when their identity is still linked to this evil spirit? And if My children have yet to regard themselves as joint-heirs with My Son, numbered amongst the bloodline of the Highest King, how can they effectively share with another the joyous news of salvation?
Though redemption is the starting point for all believers, a relationship with Me offers so much more. Beyond the doorway unlocked through repentance, lies the majestic landscape of My presence, the spacious fields just waiting to be discovered. My children needn’t wait until they pass into eternity to partake in their inheritance, for these can already enjoy the bounty of My presence while here on earth, for they are now eternally connected with their Maker, where He is ever-present in their lives.
Therefore don’t equate My inheritance with that bequeathed by your earthly parents, for what I have given to My children has no limitations, as there are ample blessings for all who are grafted into My spiritual household. Regard yourselves then as such: children of the King who are wanted and loved, who too were destined to receive from Me more than a pittance, or whatever crumbs happened to fall from My table.
Each of you was specifically chosen from the throngs of mankind to be My children, as those who will live on with Me in eternity. So, cast off the words of this orphan spirit, for he only encourages you to stay captive by whispering lies which say “You must fend for yourself!”. And every time you have these thoughts, discern the voice that is speaking, for once you are on to his game, it will be easy to spot the places within, where deception still exists.
Then you who are My chosen must pay close attention to your thoughts, for the enemy is very subtle and will attempt to slip in his perspective whenever he finds an opening. Therefore, take the time to compare your perception of “identity” to the actual one l have spoken over you. These places of distortion must be dispelled if you are to walk in the fullness of who I called you to be. For then the rich legacy I have poured out upon you shall flow from your hearts and into your communities, touching the lives of those who are still lost.
I say today: Apprehend these lingering thoughts which speak something less than the Truth, for none who were purchased by the blood of My Son can ever say they are orphans.
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:14-19
