How many have said, “I follow Jesus!”, only to find that they’ve been proven to be liars? For some who call themselves “Christian” are nothing more than wolves in sheep’s clothing: those who have snuck in among My flock, portraying themselves as believers, yet in their hearts have never chosen to accept My Son as Savior.
And so these unrepentant imposters have made it through the doors of My churches, with some being given leadership roles, while others have even been given a place to stand behind pulpits, where these deceitful workmen spin false doctrines meant to lead My sheep astray. For though their words carry enough truth to sound Scriptural, these teachings are really a distortion of the Gospel. And because a number in My flock have become fat and lazy, they hastily ingest what these false teachers have said without weighing out for themselves the validity of their message.
Where are My Bereans? Where are My children who don’t just occasionally read their Bibles, but who actually study the Scriptures so they know what I’ve said, and who aren’t easily fooled by some deceptive teaching just because it tickles their ears?
But alas, how sad it is that very few of My children have followed the example of those ancient people, as many believers today are satisfied with watered down versions of the Truth. Yet, like a person who continually fills their stomach with unhealthy food, these in My flock are bloated with the lies they have consumed. Although a wolf in sheep’s clothing should be easy to spot, many who know Me have trouble discerning an authentic teacher or prophet from one who is not; leaving them with an odd mixture of beliefs about My divine nature and what it means to live as a person of faith.
This is why, when My winds of change blow with a stronger intensity across the Church, some will not remain standing, for the materials they used to build their faith were not made of anything solid, having instead put their trust in the perverted words of false teachers without solidifying their understanding by studying the Scriptures. So rather than simply accepting what is taught (even when the teaching comes from a trusted leader), a deeper consideration should be given to what is said, as even the most learned teacher is fallible, and not above misinterpreting certain passages or verses in the Word.
Because hostility and anger have been allowed to fill the atmosphere during this turbulent season, an opening in the spiritual realm has been created for false teachers to crop up on every corner within the landscape of the Church. These false teachers are from the enemy camp, sent here under the guise of the Gospel, to stir up strife among the elect.
Therefore, let My children be warned that even now there are wolves amongst them: those who have fooled believers with misleading words which sound almost Biblical in order to gain status within the Church. Yet, these are not mere sheep, for they have razor sharp teeth and pointed fangs designed for the purpose of tearing apart My Body. These deceitful workmen have been assigned to carry out this directive: to sink their teeth in the doctrinal differences found in the Church, and exploit those variances to create a wider chasm among My own, where more infighting breaks out over where to stand on the societal issues affecting the country.
However, those believers who, like the Bereans, run to investigate the Scripture to see if what they have heard is correct teaching, shall not be so easily fooled. As a result of their diligence, these won’t be pulled here or there, but shall remain unified in Christ with their brothers and sisters who do not lean on their own opinion to judge what is right and true.
My admonishment now is not a reprimand, but let it serve as a forecast of the coming days. For though a great revival has been predicted in this season, so shall there be a great falling away. Because of this, believers ought to prepare themselves now by not only seeking My presence, but digging deeper into the Scriptures. For then who among them can be easily ensnared by the enemy’s lies and false teachings?
So don’t simply take a teacher at his word, be like the Bereans, and study for yourselves the validity of each message you hear. Then, the construction of your core beliefs will be rooted and established on a solid foundation: one that is not easily destroyed when the winds of false doctrine blow against the Church, no matter how strong the gust.
Therefore, ready yourselves now in preparation for the adversity that is to come, lest you, too, are found weak in your faith, and are carried off by the enemy’s deception.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” Matthew 7:15-16a
