Then the patriots shall rise and with them the vigilantes, for within the ranks of this militia lies a sense of honor and duty to their nation. These still believe in the right to stand up to tyranny no matter how the package is bundled; whether it be holding the line against a single dictator or a governmental body wielding unauthorized power, these men and women will not easily let go of their birthright, the freedom they have been guaranteed as a citizen of this nation.
The flag of this nation has been proudly flying since her founding, and has boldly waved over this people for many decades. For even when there was a war between the States, “Old Glory” remained the banner of this country. And though the sovereignty she represents has known a few attacks, both foreign and domestic, this flag has never ceased to symbolize freedom, not only to this land, but to the whole world.
The avarice of the flesh has a strong pull, for it leads a person’s heart to dark places within its tow, as those who succumb to its voice are driven to accumulate more and more. Because this internal need is never satisfied (as “not enough” pushes a person to obtain a fortune of substantial size), “excess” then becomes the goal so that the individual who has partnered with this greedy voice builds his life on a structure of affluence and riches.
The lesser of two evils is the attitude of most when they approach polling places these days, for to choose a worthy candidate is now decided by who amongst the field has fewer black marks against them or distasteful skeletons in their closet. So then, the one chosen to lead isn’t necessarily selected because of their stellar reputation, nor because they are the most qualified to hold the seat, but because he or she was more palatable to a larger segment of the population.
